Intermediate Obedience Class:
Our Intermediate Obedience Group Dog Training class is designed for those students who have already graduated from Basic Obedience class, or who have successfully achieved a solid foundation of basic manners. This Group Class focuses on improving responsiveness to cues at a distance, creating a more reliable recall (come when called), stay, impulse control and teaching “Go to Place” and settle.
Canine Good Citizen Class & Test (AKC’s CGC Certification)
The purpose of the Canine Good Citizen Test is to ensure that our favorite companion and best canine friends can be a respected member of the community. Dogs become respected members of their communities when they are trained to ask mannerly in the home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs. This CGC class and Test tests dogs in simulated everyday situations in a relaxed, noncompetitive atmosphere. Some obedience training is a prerequisite to this class.
Meets once a week for four weeks, the test will be given on the 4th week/last class; lessons are approximately one hour in length.
In order for any of our training programs to be successful, it is imperative for owner(s) to be consistent in changing patterns and behaviors at home as instructed by your trainer. Your willingness to incorporate the obedience commands into everyday life is crucial for success. The time and energy that you invest will determine how much you and your dog are able to accomplish.
